LADY CANE BASKETBALL TRYOUTS WILL BE 10/4/23 - 10/6/23
Please read all of the information below with your parents to ensure that you are ready for tryouts.
- Important Information for Tryouts:
1. Physicals - All athletes planning to try out must complete a physical before tryouts. Also, players will need to upload their physical to Final Forms before tryouts. The link to Final Forms in on the school’s website. *Soccer and Volleyball players, you should already have physicals, and they will be uploaded online by our AD.
2. Attire - Please wear athletic clothing (t-shirt and shorts) during tryouts and closed-toed shoes - NO
CROCS or SANDALS. Dressing rooms will be available to players if needed.
3. Water Bottle - Please bring water to tryouts and have it with you in the gym.
4. Selections - Unfortunately, we cannot keep all players that try out. Last year, we carried 20 players total. There could potentially be multiple cut days depending on how many players try out. Selections will be clearly communicated to players when that time comes.
- Important Information about Potentially Making the Team:
1. Practice Pickups (subject to change) - We rotate with the boys’ team weekly between early and late practice. Early practice is from 2:30 - 4 p.m.; late practice is from 4:15-5:45 p.m. Please pickup your player on time. If late, please pick them up within 15 minutes of practice ending.
2. Transportation to games - If your daughter makes the team, she will be responsible for her own
transportation to both home and away games. Players are allowed to carpool to games together if
coordinated by parents.
3. JV / Varsity Teams - Some players who make the team (6th and 7th graders only) may be asked to
play on BOTH JV and Varsity games. If this is your player, I will reach out to make you aware and to make sure you are comfortable with this. Players who are on both teams must keep up with more jerseys, play in both games, etc.
- Tryout Schedule:
Wednesday (10/4) - 2:30 - 4:00
Thursday (10/5) - 2:30 - 4:00
Friday (10/6) – 2:30 – 4:00 (if needed / this may turn into a practice)
