Dear East Hamilton Families,
I am incredibly honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of East Hamilton Middle School and officially become part of the East Ham Fam. East Hamilton has a strong tradition of excellence, pride, and community, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve you.
I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Andrew LaFevor, but please feel free to call me Andy. My wife, Jenna, owns a small business in Dunlap, and our daughter, Landry, will be starting 8th grade at Red Bank Middle School this fall. Most weekends, you’ll find me working on our family’s beef cattle farm or cheering on the Vols.
I am especially excited to reconnect with many of the families I had the privilege of meeting during my time at Westview Elementary School while also building relationships with the many new families who make East Hamilton such a special place.
Throughout my career in education, I’ve served as a classroom teacher, Dean of Students, and Instructional Coach at Red Bank Middle School, Assistant Principal at Westview Elementary School, and most recently, Principal of Snow Hill Elementary School. Each role has reinforced my belief that strong schools are built through meaningful relationships, high expectations, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is best for students and staff every day. As principal, I am committed to supporting academic excellence, creating meaningful opportunities for students, and fostering a culture where every student feels connected, challenged, and valued. I believe schools thrive when families, staff, students, and the community work together, and I look forward to partnering with you as we continue building on the incredible tradition at East Hamilton.
I cannot wait to meet each of you and begin this next chapter together. Thank you for welcoming my family and me into the East Hamilton community. Please be on the lookout for an opportunity in June and July to come by the school and get to know me a little better.
