Hello East Ham Fam!

We hope you’ve enjoyed a great Labor Day weekend, and we look forward to students returning to school tomorrow. Students please remember that school photos are scheduled tomorrow!

COVID-19 – As shared by the district, if your child was exposed to COVID-19 during their time away from school or is displaying symptoms, please have them tested and remain home until you have confirmed negative test results. If your child isn’t feeling well, they should stay home. Seek medical advice and don’t allow your child to return to school until symptoms have fully improved. We will continue to follow our COVID-19 protocol as we seek to mitigate the spread in our schools: Face coverings are required when indoors, wash your hands frequently, social distance when possible, and consider vaccination if you are eligible.

Please remember too that only unmasked students result in close contacts within six feet of a positive case. As long as both students are masked, no close contact occurs. As a result of this protocol, wearing masks helps keep students in school.

School Nutrition - Cafeterias are being impacted by nationwide supply chain issues. While cafeterias are attempting to follow the menus as much as possible, these supply chain issues will create a need for menu changes. Individualized menus for each school are now available at and will be updated regularly to match menu changes.

Thanks for your great support of our school community at East Hamilton Middle!

Dr. Ethan Hildreth, Principal

Good morning EHM East Ham Fam,

Thank you for your good humor, support, and flexibility as we learn remotely this week. This reset should help us return next week with far fewer quarantines. This is especially true as district has adjusted the close contact guidelines as follows:

Updated Contact Tracing Guidance
In the K-12 indoor classroom setting, the close contact definition excludes students if both the infected student and the exposed student(s) correctly and consistently wore well-fitting masks the entire time. This exception does not apply to teachers, staff, or other adults in the indoor classroom setting. This guidance applies to Grades 3-12 only, as face coverings are recommended, but not required for K-2 students while in the classroom.

Athletics may continue this week as long as the team is not impacted by positive cases. Students should communicate with coaches for direction.

Parents and students, please remember that for this school year, meals are free in the school cafeteria. We encourage students to eat regularly and nutritiously as this supports a balanced life, good health, and effective learning.

For this week of remote learning, lunches are available for collection at the school, for those who desire. Collection for lunches for the week is today from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. If lunches run out, the nutrition staff will set another time for collection tomorrow. Please collect lunches outside the school building on the right side (when facing the building) where kitchen staff will be located. This meal provision at our school is just for EHMS students.

Thanks again to our super school community. Immensely proud of our EHM Canes!
