East Hamilton MS Soccer Tryout FAQ’s
- All students must have a physical to tryout. The physical can be printed from the School website under the MS Sports page. They will also need the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Form, and Concussion Forms filled out.
- Do not wait until you can see your pediatrician for the physical, unless you have extenuating circumstances. Sometimes this can be weeks to get in, and your child will miss tryouts, due to not having a physical. Physicals can be done at Walgreen’s, CVS, Physicians care, etc. and cost between 25- 40 dollars. If you ran cross country, or played tennis or football, the school should have one on file.
- Be sure both you and your athlete sign the medical consent form in the packet.
-
Print and submit the entire packet. Make sure your doctor signs the clearance portion of the physical, and checks the box that states they are cleared for all sports. If they are not cleared, they cannot participate.
- Be sure your player is prepared on the day of tryouts, and has a ball, shin guards, water, cleats, and athletic apparel. At a minimum, they should be in shin guards, tennis shoes, and athletic gear.
- They will run a lot, and it will be timed. Soccer players are expected to have a certain level of fitness. Your player should be able to run a minimum of one mile, multiple times a week.
- There will be cuts. We do our best to keep as many players as possible however; we cannot/do not keep everyone. Please have this conversation with your player prior to tryouts. We will have a coed developmental team made up primarily of 6th and 7th grade players. They will play on Monday nights throughout the season, and will be available as bench players during the rest of week.
