Welcome to 8th Grade ELA!  

This is my 14th year of teaching, and I have certifications in English (7-12), Business Education (7-12), and ESL (K-12). My two sons (ages 25 and 23) both attended East Hamilton Middle and High School, so I've been wearing Hurricane Green for many years now.  I love to garden and watch things grow.  I also enjoy cooking, playing games, and multiple music genres. The Gulf Coast is definitely my happy place!

We will cover a lot this year and dive into some great texts. I look forward to seeing students learn, mature, and make progress in their Language, Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening skills.  

We will use Canvas as our learning platform. I will keep the assignments/lessons current, in real time as we do them in the classroom.  If students are absent, they will be able to see what they need to do. REMIND messages will be sent regularly to keep you informed of upcoming events and deadlines.  

Eighth Grade is a BIG YEAR!!  We will be getting students prepared for high school and the next step in their education.  I encourage everyone to DO YOUR BEST.  Please don't hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns.
